# Ranks, Levels & XP

Participating in the Retroverse will grant players XP (Experience Points) allowing them to show off their dedication by "Leveling Up" into new ranks.

Currently, ranks are strictly for bragging rights. **This will change in the future.** There are various ways to earn XP:

* Opening [Boxes](/chaincade/welcome-to-the-retroverse/the-arcade/prizeboxes.md)
* Playing [Games](/chaincade/welcome-to-the-retroverse/chaincade-games.md)

* and more to be discovered!

XP needed to level up is calculated with the following formula:
